Mkuze Falls Game Lodge - heart of historic Zululand
The Mkuze Falls Game Lodge is situated in the heart of historic Zululand - in the former "Boer Republic", formed when Piet Retief, bought the land from Dingaan, Shaka's half brother.
The centrally located Main Lodge houses all the entertainment facilities. You will find a pleasant dining area, indoor and outdoor pub areas and a shady terrace and swimming pool.
The large lounge leads onto a spacious viewing deck which is built over the sloping river bank. This verandah provides panoramic views of the winding Mkuze River and the wild and untamed landscape beyond.
Mkuze Falls Game Lodge consists of two main facility Lodges, eight luxurious Chalets and one Safari Lodge. All Chalets are built on raised wooden platforms and the spacious veranda of each unit provides fantastic views of the river, the waterfall and the surrounding hills.
The re-introduction of lions
Lions have been re-introduced into the game reserve and a cheetah breeding project is underway. Freshwater fishing - for powerful tigerfish in the nearby Pongolapoort dam - and deepwater fishing, for sailfish and marlin, are now offered. The Mkuze Falls Game Lodge operates its own private fishing vessel.
